Sentence a Day In September

Another month gone by!  Today I am wrapping up our September one sentence at a time.  We had so much fun with family-- birthdays, vacation, & visiting relatives!  We hiked and enjoyed the great outdoors whenever possible.

1.  We had a birthday party for my niece and nephew at a local pond.



2.  We went hiking with my sisters, parents, niece, and nephews.




3.  We had a birthday party for Evan



4.  Our cat had another vet appointment and we had him put down after seeing him struggling to walk and move.



5.  Alec had an orthodontic appointment and I had a physical scheduled.

6.  We met up with friends of ours at a 16 acre non-profit farm and took a tour learning all about permaculture in the process.


7.  Ben and I took the younger two boys to lunch at Pub 99 and then I took them to Hallmark to buy some Yankee Candle products.



8.  I spent the afternoon visiting with my sister and nephews one last time before they left to go back home.

9.  We met with our hiking group for a nice hour long hike and 10 families showed up!




10.  We spent a rainy day at home relaxing.

11.  I helped the boys pack their suitcases for our impending vacation; I write them up a checklist and they use it to pack for themselves.

12.  We finished cleaning the house; my parents house sit for us while we're gone and I like them to have a clean house when they arrive.

13.  Evan left to go out to a birthday lunch and shopping day with this grandmother while Ian and I ran a couple of last minute errands.

14.  We woke bright and early to fly into Denver then drove up to Cheyenne Wyoming for the night.


15.  We drove to South Dakota and explored Mammoth Dig Site and Evan's Plunge hot springs along the way.



16. We drove through two scenic drives at Custer State park and made it to Mount Rushmore before touring a gold mine and panning for gold.








17. We went kayaking around Sheridan Lake and then checked out the Reptile Gardens.



18. It finally cooled off enough that we tackled a hike around Sylvan Lake at Custer State park then headed into Keystone for lunch and some shopping.





19.  We were heading to a hotel in Mitchell, South Dakota for the night and stopped at Wall Drug and the Badlands along the way.





20.  We checked out of our hotel and headed to Omaha where we spent the afternoon at the zoo & Aquarium before checking into our last hotel of the trip. 





21.  We headed to Omaha airport first thing in the morning and headed home.  

22.  Spent the day doing laundry, going grocery shopping, and preparing food for a little birthday party for Evan!




23.  We went on an early morning hike before the heat of the day rolled in; it was nice to be back home and surprising to see some of the leaves already turning colors. 



24. Ian and I met with the oral surgeon and learned all about having his 4 wisdom teeth removed.

25.  I had my first ever mammogram then the boys and I took off to Purgatory Chasm for an afternoon of hiking.  





26.  We enjoyed a quiet day at home. 

27.  I took the boys hiking at Bluff Point; it was such a beautiful day for it too. 




28.  My husband and I went to check out a possible new "toy"/tool for the yard and came home with that Ranger.  


29.  I spent much of my day doing laundry and writing up comprehension questions for Alec's Chemistry book this year (called I'm Just Here For More Food by Altron Brown).



30.  We had our first official school day of 6th, 8th, and 10th grade followed by a homeschool hike at Pixie Falls.
