Garden in the Woods: A Photo Journey

I have been wanting to go check out Garden in the Woods with my boys for several years now (ever since I first heard of it) but every time I thought of going it was either so late in the fall or so early in the spring that we knew nothing would be in bloom.

We finally had a bright sunny day and I asked the boys if they'd like to go; they agreed as long as we were home by lunch so we headed out nice and early.  The place was packed and we got the lost parking spot in the lot!

Set around beautiful water features, rock gardens, and landscaping the garden was really pretty; even it was just starting to bloom.

The younger boys really liked this feature as it spun in multiple directions

We saw so many neat and unusual blooms along with a few creatures around the ponds and rivers.

We enjoyed seeing unique features like the bench built into the wall, the children's play areas, and actual wooded paths that had little bridges and brooks running through them.

We walked just about every path there was and left pretty happy with some ice cream treats about an hour later.

  1. What a lovely place! I kind of feel like magical creatures could pop out at some point along the path :)

    1. Ours too and I decided we just had to get there this year. We liked it but with an hours drive (each way) it wasn't something I think I'd go back and see again.

    1. It is very pretty.. I'm amazed that they get so much to grow in some of the areas that are so shady.

  7. This is a lovely walk through the woods. You've photographed some of my early Spring favorites. Redbuds (good to eat), trillium, and columbine. I love those.

It's so good to get out in Nature, and it's good for our boys as well. Everyone needs to stop and smell the flowers!
    Blessings!
