Virtual Refrigerator-- Penguin Painting

Hi and welcome back to the Virtual Refrigerator!  We're so happy to have you stopping by today and hope you'll link up with us.

Alec, Evan and I tried out a new painting class last month.  We heard of this homeschooling class that meets once a month to complete an entire painting in just two hours.  Some friends of ours were going and we thought it sounded like a lot of fun.  It didn't hurt that the painting was an adorable little penguin!

We loved everything about the class-- the studio was bright and airy and fun.  There were beautiful paintings displayed everywhere and they offer other classes/ projects too.

Just look at how fun this paint station is!

Everything was all set up for us and the instructor talked us through each step.

Because the paint station is always open I added just a touch of pink paint to my background for a warmer orange color.

As you can see one of our friends decided to paint a purple background!   I just love the teacher often reminded us that there are no mistakes in art and we are all free to complete the project with our own little touches added.

At the end of the class we work together to choose next month's project from any of the paintings displayed around the room.

It was so much fun and for only $12 a person it was pretty affordable!

Now without further ado I invite you to grab a "magnet" and link up your arts and crafts posts below and visit some other bloggers to see what they shared on their refrigerators.

Your art project doesn't need to be a stand alone post, nor does it need to be a tutorial.  We love day in the life posts or homeschooling wrap- ups that show art work too!

So what do you have to share with us?

  1. Those are adorable!!! What a great deal for a regular paint class too. My daughter and I have done a couple of paint parties and really enjoyed them, and I would totally go once a month if someone did that here.

    1. They are so fun and I could not believe how reasonably priced it was; most of the paint parties around here are considerably more per person.

  2. I love your penguin picture! It looks like a great beginner picture, with all of the simple shapes.

    1. They really did a great job of breaking it down into simple shapes and step by step instructions that all ages could follow.
