Art Project #7: Jellyfish Scratch Art

Keeping up with our 100 days of art we completed a fun jellyfish scratch art activity yesterday.

I pulled out our scratch art paper and the boys were already excited.  They just love that paper.

However, I know that once I hand them the blank paper they usually stare at it and start to complain that they don't know what to draw.  So yesterday I offered to look up something for us to draw together.  I suggested butterflies, jellyfish, birds, etc. and was really surprised that they all AGREED they wanted to try drawing a jellyfish.

Evan was really unsure of this project because he does not enjoy drawing (or arts & crafts) but the website we found broke everything down into simple, easy to follow, step by step instructions and all three boys loved how their jellyfish turned out.

You can find the instructions at Draw Central.

Evan ended up drawing two! A mom and baby. It was such a small thing but felt like a huge victory!

I took a sheet of paper and as I would read out the instructions I illustrated on my paper then they worked on theirs.

Starting his second!

I just love how well they call came out!
